Hey, did you catch the opening ceremony just now. What a spectacular synchronize show. If you missed it, don't worry. You can still watch it (legally) at Youtube. According to CBC Canada news dated August 5, IOC strikes a deal with YouTube to bring Olympics online. You can watch video feeds at a Channel setup by the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS). OK, let's just cut to the chase. Point your browser to http://www.youtube.com/beijing2008 and enjoy the video stream. Catch the Olympic 2008 opening ceremony video.


By the way, apparently you can't embed all video from this channel to your blog. They just won't allow it due to some regions where broadcasters already hold online rights to Olympic video, including Canada. Hahaha, how ironic, I read this news from CBC Canada.

How To Save YouTube Video

YouTube.com is great place to share your video online. However if you want to safe any video into your PC, YouTube don't have a direct access for this purpose. At least not for now. But there is always solution for every single problem and saving YouTube videos is not a problem anymore. Of course we need helps from others and that is why YouTubeX.com comes into the picture.

Now what you have to do:

- Browse for the videos at YouTube.com
- Copy and Paste the URL of the YouTube video into the form above.
- Click "DOWNLOAD" to save the YouTube file to your PC.
- Rename the YouTube file with a .flv extension if necessary

To playback the .FLV video, you'll need a FLV Player. You can get a FREE one here. Done.
You can now play the YouTube videos as many time you want without the need to connect to your ISP.

YouTube soon to follow Napster history

Read it from the Yahoo news today. It says Universal Music Group, the world's biggest record company, recently accused YouTube of being a serial copyright infringer.

I guess life is like a roller coaster. YouTube now is like at the top of the peak and soon or later will going down. It just a mater how steep the slope is. Currently YouTube is the 3rd most viewed website in the world (damn Alexa is down to confirm this). I even uploaded a few videos in there.

But hey YouTube is not the only free video sharing out there. Some of it like MetaCafe are equally interesting, but I think YouTube has the much volume compare to the others.

Not to forget, recently Yahoo acquires online video editing JumpCut as part of the Yahoo family. I did try it, and it is simple enough.
